On April 22nd, 2024, UNIDO ITPO Korea held the “Korean Industrial Development Seminar: Recommendations for Uzbekistan” as part of its Advisory Programme in Uzbekistan. The seminar, initiated by the local advisor of UNIDO ITPO Korea and supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan, attracted an audience of approximately 70 professors, researchers, and students eager to explore the Korean industrial development experience.
Taking place at Gulistan State University, the event served as a pivotal platform for academia to convene, exchange insights, and collectively outline the path towards a more competitive industrial future in Uzbekistan. The seminar covered various topics, including government policies supporting industries, drawing from Korea's case, and strategies for fostering innovation among SMEs in Uzbekistan. Doniyor Usmanov, Advisor of UNIDO ITPO Korea in Uzbekistan, offered valuable insights into the collaboration between Korea and Uzbekistan, particularly in the area of industrial development and technology promotion.
The seminar concluded with fruitful discussions and actionable recommendations geared towards enhancing Uzbekistan's industrial competitiveness and fostering innovation within SMES.
