On Aug 14th, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Investment and Technology Promotion Office Korea (UNIDO ITPO Korea), in collaboration with Gyeonggi Business Center (GBC Tashkent), hosted a startup seminar for a Korean Youth Delegation in Tashkent.
The seminar was attended by Korean Youth Delegation participating in the ‘Gyeonggido Business & Science Accelerating program (GBSA)’. They could learn Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem and U-Enter, the leading startup support center in Uzbekistan.
Doniyor Usmanov, an Advisor of UNIDO ITPO Korea in Uzbekistan, introduced Uzbekistan’s rapidly growing startup ecosystem, government policies supporting industries, and youth entrepreneurship accelerating program.
The delegation visited U-Enter, a startup growth incubator, and had meetings with local startups in Uzbekistan. Oleg Rjichenko, the director, introduced in detail about U-Enter and startup support programs. Afterwards, the delegation toured U-Enter and had meetings with local startups.
The Youth Delegation Program discussed various efforts including startup support policies and incubation programs to support startups in Uzbekistan. Based on these outcomes, UNIDO ITPO Korea plans to collaborate with GBC Tashkent to host the 'Tashkent-Gyeonggido Youth Entrepreneurs Connection' event, to promote collaborations between young innovators from both countries.
