KINTEX, South Korea, Oct. 30 - Nov. 2, 2024 – The United Nations Industrial Development Organization-Investment Technology Promotion Office, Korea (UNIDO ITPO Korea) successfully provided titled "Consultancy Service for Overseas Operation" during the 2024 Asia Machinery & Manufacturing Expo (AMXPO), inviting delegations from developing countries to participate.

The AMXPO, Asia’s premier exhibition for Korea's machinery industry, has been held since 1977 as the "Korea Machinery Fair" with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy and the Korea Association of Machinery Industry. This year, 92 companies and organizations from 12 countries, including major Korean corporations such as Hyundai Rotem and HD Hyundai Infra Core, participated, drawing thousands of domestic and international visitors. A total of 47 overseas buyers from 14 countries attended, resulting in 250 export consultation sessions, showcasing the latest trends and innovations in machinery manufacturing.

ITPO Korea organized a promotional booth at AMXPO 2024 for providing consultancy services supporting the global expansion of companies in the machinery manufacturing sector. For this event, ITPO Korea invited 18 government officials and experts from 13 countries, including Uzbekistan, Kenya, Rwanda, Algeria, Bangladesh, Cambodia, the Philippines, Nigeria, Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and Peru. These delegates engaged in one-on-one consultations with representatives from 38 Korean companies, discussing key topics such as △ industry trends in their respective countries △ business opportunities and potential △ challenges in market entry, and △ plans for future collaboration to enhance investment opportunities. A total of 122 consultation sessions were conducted during the event, fostering meaningful connections and discussions for future partnerships.

Mr. Bahizi, Head of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at Rwanda Polytechnic, stated, "Participating in the UNIDO ITPO Korea advisory consultations has been invaluable in identifying partnership opportunities with Korean companies to advance Rwanda’s manufacturing sector." He expressed enthusiasm for participating in future sessions as well. Similarly, Mr. Nozimjon Khamrokulov, a representative of the Uzbek business delegation, noted, "I identified several models from Korea's advanced manufacturing technology companies that would be highly applicable for Uzbekistan.". He expressed his intention to pursue further cooperation with relevant stakeholders upon his return.

The overseas delegations invited by ITPO Korea visited the booths of seven major companies, including Hyundai Infracore and Hyundai Rotem, where they experienced each company’s innovative technologies and discussed potential avenues for technology transfer and collaboration with their home countries. As they toured advanced equipment from Korean companies and products from global tech firms, the delegations explored ways to integrate these technologies into their facilities and evaluated possibilities for import and technology transfer. Laziz Abbasov, an entrepreneur from Uzbekistan who participated in the tour, remarked, “The unmanned excavator by Korea's D Corporation was very impressive. I plan to continue discussions with D Corporation representatives to explore its potential application on construction sites in Uzbekistan,” expressing his intent to stay in contact with the company.

ITPO Korea will continue supporting domestic companies' overseas expansion by inviting industry experts and delegations to provide advisory consultations and services. Furthermore, ITPO Korea is dedicated to advancing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting industrial and infrastructure development in developing countries. Through a variety of initiatives and advisory programs, ITPO Korea remains committed to furthering UNIDO’s mission of fostering 'Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development
